Construction Walls Get a Magical Makeover
If you have been following theme park news lately, you know that Disneyland Paris is currently in the middle of a massive transformation period. One of the most visible projects just reached a new phase at Disneyland Park. After initially surrounding the bridge to Sleeping Beauty Castle (Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant) with plain white plywood, the resort has now installed a beautifully themed scrim to cover the construction area.
This refurbishment is scheduled to run through late September 2026. While construction walls are rarely a guest’s favorite sight, the new wrap is designed to blend in with the castle architecture, helping to preserve the classic skyline for those taking vacation photos. The bridge itself is receiving much-needed maintenance to ensure the structure remains a stunning centerpiece for years to come.
The Castle Remains Open for Exploration
The biggest concern for many travelers is whether they can still experience the magic inside the icon. We have good news: the castle is not fully closed. Despite the bridge being barricaded, you can still access the most popular interior spots. La Tanière du Dragon (The Lair of the Dragon) and the Sleeping Beauty Castle walkthrough remain operational throughout the project.
To reach these attractions, you will need to use alternate entrances located to the sides of the castle. These paths are clearly marked, and Cast Members are available to guide you toward the dragon’s cave or the upstairs gallery where the story of Aurora is told through stunning stained glass and tapestries. The castle boutiques, including Merlin l’Enchanteur, also remain open for business.
Main Street, U.S.A. and Dining Changes
The castle bridge isn’t the only project currently active. As you walk down Main Street, U.S.A., you will notice several other updates:
- Plaza Gardens Restaurant: This fan-favorite character dining spot is currently closed for a major reimagining. This isn’t just a quick paint job; the restaurant is undergoing a total overhaul of its flooring, facades, and interior design. It is expected to remain closed until early 2027.
- Town Square Gazebo: Crews are currently finishing the final phases of a long-term refurbishment on the Victorian gazebo near the park entrance. You may still see small sections of one staircase blocked off as they wrap up work.
- Guest Services Relocated: Due to the Plaza Gardens construction, the Baby Care Center has moved to the former Annual Passholder office. The First Aid station has also been temporarily relocated to a dedicated building in Discoveryland.
How to Plan Your Visit Around Construction
Refurbishments are a natural part of keeping the parks in top shape, but they do require a little extra planning. If you are visiting this summer or early fall, try focusing your photography on the side angles of the castle or from the paths in Fantasyland to avoid the bridge walls entirely. Additionally, since Plaza Gardens is unavailable, we recommend booking your dining reservations for other popular spots like Walt’s – An American Restaurant or Captain Jack’s well in advance to ensure you have a table-service meal secured.
