Pixar Summer Fest Takes Over Hong Kong Disneyland: Drones, Inflatables, and Toy Story 5 Sneak Peeks

A New Kind of Summer Celebration at Hong Kong Disneyland

While the heat is turning up in Hong Kong, the energy at Hong Kong Disneyland is reaching a fever pitch with the launch of the first-ever Pixar Summer Fest. Running now through August 31, 2026, this park-wide takeover is a massive tribute to the stories and characters that have defined Pixar Animation Studios for decades. If you have been looking for a reason to visit the Castle of Magical Dreams this year, this festival brings a layer of entertainment we have never seen before at this resort.

Splashing Through the Afternoon

Beating the summer humidity is a top priority for any park guest in Hong Kong. The Pixar Water Play Street Party is designed to do exactly that. This daytime procession winds through the park, featuring favorite characters from Toy Story, Inside Out, Onward, Up, and The Incredibles. Unlike a traditional parade, this one is built for high-energy interaction and plenty of splashing. It is a fantastic way for families to cool off while seeing rare characters like Ian and Barley Lightfoot or the Parr family in action.

Following the water party, the Friendtastic! Parade takes to the streets. This is currently billed as the park’s largest-ever parade, featuring grand floats that showcase the scale of Pixar’s worlds. You will see Mike and Sulley collecting laugh power, Red Panda Mei on a vibrant stage, and even Carl and Russell soaring on their flying airship from Up.

The Nighttime Showpiece: Pixar Pals Spectacular

The true standout of the festival is the Pixar Pals Spectacular. This eight-minute nighttime experience serves as a high-tech pre-show to the popular Momentous nighttime spectacular. This is not a replacement for Momentous, but rather a dedicated Pixar finale to your day. The show utilizes a fleet of glowing drones in the sky, synchronized projections across the Castle of Magical Dreams, and—perhaps most impressively—giant inflatables that rise from the buildings along Main Street, U.S.A.

The show covers a massive range of films, including Finding Nemo, WALL-E, and Cars. Most interestingly for fans looking toward the future, the show includes appearances from “new friends” teased from the upcoming Toy Story 5. If you are a Toy Story completionist, you can also head over to Toy Story Land where Woody, Buzz, and Jessie are appearing with brand-new accessories inspired by the fifth film.

Unique Character Encounters and Pixar Bites

Beyond the main stages, the park has introduced several smaller, spontaneous moments that make the world feel alive. Over by Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, guests can find Meilin and her crew of 4-Townies hosting a pop-up concert. Meanwhile, Miguel from Coco can be found performing with live musicians in authentic, playful sets. For those who want to take home a skill, the Animation Academy has added a “Draw & Meet” experience where you can learn to sketch characters like Bullseye or Lotso before meeting them in the same pose next door.

No festival is complete without themed food. You can find unique items like Up-themed Egg Puffs, Lotso Waffle Sandwiches, and the popular Alien and Mike Wazowski ice bars across the park’s quick-service locations. If you want to skip the lines for the most popular entertainment, Disney Premier Access is available for designated viewing areas for both the Water Play Street Party and the nighttime Spectacular.
