Muppet Mayhem: Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Previews Begin May 6

The Electric Mayhem is Ready to Roll

It is time to play the music and light the lights! Walt Disney World has finally confirmed that the long-awaited transformation of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is nearing the finish line. While the official grand opening of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is set for May 26, 2026, the real excitement starts much sooner for a few lucky groups.

Beginning May 6, 2026, Disney Cast Members will be able to register for exclusive preview windows. These early access opportunities are a staple of the Disney experience, allowing the park to stress-test the new effects and audio-animatronics before the general public descends on Sunset Boulevard. If you are a Cast Member, you’ll be able to book a spot for yourself and up to three guests to be among the first to see the new Muppet Labs tech in action.

Who Else Gets Early Access?

If you aren’t a Cast Member, don’t worry. Disney has also signaled that previews are on the horizon for Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members and Annual Passholders. While exact dates for these groups haven’t been posted yet, the May 6 registration for employees usually indicates that DVC and AP windows will follow shortly after. Historically, these previews take place about ten to fourteen days before the official opening, so keep your calendars clear for mid-May.

Expert tip: If you aren’t eligible for a preview, keep an eye on the park’s operation schedule between May 20 and May 25. We’ve seen recently with the updates at Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin that Disney often holds “soft openings” for regular guests once the scheduled previews conclude. There is no guarantee, but it’s a great way to sneak onto the ride without a 120-minute wait.

A Star-Studded Setlist

The reimagined coaster is keeping its signature high-speed launch but swapping out the Aerosmith soundtrack for something a bit more chaotic. Guests will find that G-Force Records is now under the management of J.P. Grosse, Scooter’s uncle. The story involves the Electric Mayhem going missing just before a massive Hollywood concert, and it’s your job to board a L.I.M.O. (Lengthy Immediate Motion Object) to find them.

One of the most exciting updates is the rotating soundtrack. Instead of one fixed track, you’ll hear one of five high-energy songs during your ride:

The experience is packed with celebrity cameos, so keep your eyes peeled for Awkwafina, Danny Trejo, Neil Patrick Harris, and Weird Al Yankovic. There is even a brand-new animatronic of Scooter in the preshow, marking a huge technical upgrade for this classic building.

Planning Your Visit

When the ride officially debuts on May 26, it will undoubtedly be the hardest ticket in town. It has been confirmed that the attraction will join the Lightning Lane Multi Pass lineup as a Tier 1 selection. If you’re staying at a Disney Resort, you should prioritize this booking exactly seven days before your check-in date to ensure you get a spot in the limo.

The Muppets are finally getting the spotlight they deserve on Sunset Boulevard, and with previews starting in just a few days, the countdown to mayhem is officially on!
