A Big Shift for Bluey Fans
It has been a whirlwind week at Disney’s Animal Kingdom since Bluey’s Wild World officially opened at Conservation Station. We have seen families rushing to their phones at 7:00 AM to snag a spot in the virtual queue, but that process is about to look very different. Disney has confirmed that the virtual queue for this popular new experience will officially end on June 1, 2026.
Starting June 2, 2026, guests will be able to experience everything Bluey’s Wild World has to offer via a traditional standby queue. This is a surprisingly fast transition for such a high-profile addition, especially considering it only opened on May 26th. If you have been struggling with the digital lottery system, this news is likely a huge relief for your next trip.
Our Take: Why the Change?
While Bluey is arguably the biggest name in preschool entertainment right now, the logistical reality of the Wildlife Express Train has made the virtual queue a bit of a headache. In the last few days, we noticed that while the 7:00 AM boarding groups were gone in seconds, the 10:00 AM slots were staying open for much longer. By moving to standby, Disney is removing a layer of friction that was frustrating for many families.
One of the biggest pain points was the requirement to have a virtual queue spot just to board the train at Harambe Station. This created confusion for guests who just wanted to visit the animal care areas or the affection section. By opening up a standby line, Disney is simplifying the flow of traffic out to Rafiki’s Planet Watch and making it feel like a more natural part of the park experience again.
What to Expect from the Standby Experience
If you are planning to visit from June 2nd onward, here is what your morning will look like. You will no longer need to worry about the My Disney Experience app at sunrise. Instead, you will head to Africa and board the Wildlife Express Train. Once you arrive at Conservation Station, you will join the physical line for the show.
- The Show: It is a 14-minute interactive experience where kids can play games like Keepy Uppy and Magic Asparagus with Bluey and Bingo.
- The Audio: Keep your ears open on the train ride! The narration has been updated with Robert Irwin to set the stage for your Australian-themed adventure.
- Jumping Junction: Don’t forget to check out the new animal residents, including kangaroos and wallabies, located right near the main play area.
Expert Strategy for Low Wait Times
Even without a virtual queue, Bluey is going to be popular. Since the experience typically runs from 8:30 AM to 3:45 PM, our best advice is to make this your first stop of the day. Most guests tend to head toward Pandora – The World of Avatar or Africa for the safaris first. If you hop on one of the first trains of the morning, you will likely beat the heat and the heaviest crowds that tend to build up by midday.
Keep in mind that the show capacity is around 100 people per session. While the standby line might look long, it should move steadily. Just remember that only folding strollers are allowed on the train, so plan your gear accordingly before you make the trek out to the station.
