Johnston & Murphy Closing at Disney Springs: The Latest on Retail Changes

Johnston & Murphy Closing at Disney Springs

If you’ve spent any time wandering through the Town Center area of Disney Springs lately, you might have noticed a few more empty windows than usual. The retail landscape at Walt Disney World’s premier shopping district is shifting once again, and it has been confirmed that Johnston & Murphy is the latest store set to permanently close its doors.

The high-end footwear and apparel retailer will have its final day of operations on Thursday, May 7, 2026. While the store was still mostly stocked and operational just a few days ago, the process of packing up merchandise is already underway in preparation for the closure.

A Decade of Style in Town Center

Johnston & Murphy was one of the original tenants when the Town Center expansion debuted in 2016. Known for its business-casual apparel and premium shoes, the brand carries a significant historical legacy. It has been famously dubbed the “Shoemaker to the Presidents,” having custom-designed footwear for every U.S. President since Millard Fillmore, including Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, and Barack Obama.

Despite its popularity and prime location, the store is following a recent trend of closures across Disney Springs. This exit comes immediately after the closure of Shore, a beachwear and lifestyle boutique that officially shuttered on April 30, 2026.

Where to Shop Now

If Johnston & Murphy is a must-visit during your Orlando trips, you don’t have to look too far to find their products. While the Disney Springs storefront is disappearing, the brand maintains a strong presence in the area:

Retail Trends at Disney Springs

The departure of Johnston & Murphy and Shore adds to a growing list of 2026 exits. Earlier this year, we saw the closure of Francesca’s in March and the nationwide shutdown of Sprinkles Cupcakes on January 1.

While it can be disappointing to see familiar favorites leave, these changes are often the result of natural lease cycles. Disney Springs continues to be a high-traffic destination, and while no replacement tenants have been announced for these specific spaces yet, the district has a history of bringing in fresh concepts. For example, the former Sprinkles location is currently hosting a limited-time Black Tap CrazyShakes pop-up through June 1st.

Keep a close eye on the Town Center area during your next visit. With multiple storefronts currently unoccupied, it’s only a matter of time before Disney announces the next wave of shopping and dining experiences.
