Stay Cool This Summer at Tokyo Disney Resort
If you’ve ever spent a summer in Japan, you know the humidity is no joke. Fortunately, Tokyo Disney Resort has mastered the art of the “Get Soaked” season, and the 2026 details are officially here. From July 2 through September 14, both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will transform into a water-filled wonderland designed to keep guests cool while delivering that signature Disney magic.
The “Get Soaked” Attraction Lineup
The highlight of the summer is undoubtedly the attraction overlays. This year, Splash Mountain returns with its “Get Soaked MAX Plus” version. This isn’t your standard log flume experience; Imagineering has dialed up the water cannons so that both riders and people standing nearby are likely to get drenched. New for 2026, Gadget’s Go Coaster is joining the fun with its own “Get Soaked” version featuring water jets erupting around the track as you zip through Toontown.
Speaking of Toontown, the entire land is turning into a splash zone. The Toontown Fire Department and the Fireworks Factory will be spouting water at unsuspecting guests, and the Trolley Barn at Jolly Trolley will feature cooling mists. Over at Tokyo DisneySea, Aquatopia will offer its “Get Soaked” version for one last summer. This is a bittersweet celebration, as the attraction is scheduled to permanently close on September 14, 2026, at the end of the event.
Baymax and Musical Collaborations
The “Hero of Summer” is once again Baymax. Baymax’s Mission: Cool Down is a parade route event happening three times daily where the lovable healthcare companion sprays guests with water to the beat of high-energy music. The soundtrack for the summer features the returning theme song “Carrying Happiness” by the popular Japanese band Mrs. GREEN APPLE. This song will be everywhere, from the Reach for the Stars: Everlasting Dreams projection show ending to a special limited-time version of The Happy Ride with Baymax that plays exclusively after 7 p.m.
Summer Flavors and Exclusive Merchandise
The event officially kicks off its food and merchandise offerings on July 1. You can look forward to a massive selection of chilled treats to help combat the heat. Tokyo Disneyland will serve various colorful shaved ice flavors and a hearty Roast Beef Rice Bowl. Over at Tokyo DisneySea, you can find sophisticated granitas: a creamy tiramisu-style version at Cafe Portofino and a peach and lemon version at Zambini Brothers’ Ristorante. If you’re looking for a full meal, keep an eye out for chilled curry-flavored udon at Sultan’s Oasis.
For those who love to collect, look for the Baymax-shaped penlight that actually syncs up with the movements of The Happy Ride with Baymax. There will also be a special collaboration drink designed by Mrs. GREEN APPLE available at select locations.
Hotel Adventures and Pro-Planning Tips
The magic extends beyond the park gates this year. The Tokyo Disneyland Hotel is hosting a “Summer Adventure” scavenger hunt themed to Peter Pan and the Lost Kids. Meanwhile, the Disney Ambassador Hotel will hold a Tropical Summer Festival, which includes a Hawaiian-themed menu at Chef Mickey’s featuring appearances by Stitch.
If you’re planning a trip, take note of the special 2026 ticketing options. During this event, the standard evening passports are being rebranded as the After 3 Summer Passport (for weekends/holidays) and the After 5 Summer Passport (for weekdays). These are perfect for locals and tourists alike who want to experience the parks once the sun starts to dip.
