Fall 2026 Disney World Dates Announced: Halloween, Food & Wine, and Major Park Changes

Planning the Ultimate Fall 2026 Disney Vacation

If you’ve been waiting for the green light to book your 2026 fall getaway, the time has finally arrived. This week, Disney released the official dates for the two biggest events of the season at Walt Disney World. Whether you’re looking for spooky spirits or global spirits, the calendar is now set.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will officially return to Magic Kingdom on select nights from August 7 through October 31, 2026. This year’s event kicks off earlier than ever, and tickets go on sale for resort guests on May 5, while the general public can grab them starting May 12. You’ll see the return of the Boo-to-You Parade and the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, but keep an eye out for rumored new villains appearing in the park this year.

Over at EPCOT, the International Food & Wine Festival will run from August 27 through November 21, 2026. We’ve already confirmed that fan favorites like Emile’s Fromage Montage and the Eat to the Beat Concert Series are returning. Early menu previews include the Street Corn-style Chicken Dumplings and the Grilled Bushberry-spiced Shrimp Skewer.

Major Transformations at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The skyline of Disney’s Hollywood Studios is looking quite different these days. Construction walls have finally come down around the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, revealing a brand-new, psychedelic look for the 40-foot Stratocaster guitar. The ride is transitioning to its Muppets and Electric Mayhem theme, featuring a vibrant paint job with swirls of pink, blue, and purple. The attraction is on track to officially reopen on May 26, 2026.

Nearby, the expansion into Monstropolis is moving full steam ahead. Imagineering recently filed four new permits for the area previously known as Muppets Courtyard. These permits indicate that work is beginning on interior set elements and new signage. Most notably, the permits cover the transformation of the former Mama Melrose’s building into Harryhausen’s, the iconic sushi restaurant from the first Monsters, Inc. film.

Magic Kingdom Updates: Big Thunder and the Fourth Ferryboat

Adventure seekers can finally head back to Frontierland as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopens this weekend. The “wildest ride in the wilderness” has received more than just new track; the highlight of the refurbishment is the addition of the Rainbow Caverns scene. Due to mechanical enhancements and new ride vehicles, the height requirement has actually been lowered from 40 inches to 38 inches, making it accessible to more young explorers.

Getting to the park is also getting an upgrade. A new ferryboat, honoring former Disney World President Meg Gilbert Crofton, is joining the fleet. This increases the total number of ferryboats to four, which should help manage morning crowds at the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Travel Alert: Spirit Airlines Shutdown

In a major update for travelers, Spirit Airlines officially ceased operations on May 2, 2026. If you had flights booked for your summer or fall vacation through Spirit, you’ll need to contact your credit card issuer for a refund and seek alternative travel immediately. Airlines like United, Delta, and Southwest have already begun offering “rescue fares” to help stranded passengers. We recommend securing new flights as soon as possible to avoid price surges caused by the reduction in low-cost carrier availability.
