Good News for May Travelers
After a whirlwind of Spring Break crowds and peak-season pricing, we finally have some breathing room at Walt Disney World. If you’ve been watching the My Disney Experience app with a weary eye, you’re likely aware that skipping the lines lately has come with a hefty price tag. During the height of the spring rush, Lightning Lane Multi Pass prices at Magic Kingdom soared as high as $45 per person. However, a significant shift is coming this May that will make your park day much easier on the wallet.
The Magic Number: $29
Recent updates to the Disney World pricing calendar show a welcome dip. On May 10 and May 11, 2026, the price for Lightning Lane Multi Pass at Magic Kingdom is scheduled to drop to $29 per person. This marks the lowest price we’ve seen for the park since February. While a few dollars might not seem like a revolution, for a family of four, that is a savings of over $60 compared to the recent peak prices.
It is not just Magic Kingdom seeing the benefits of the post-spring lull. Other parks are also showing lower entry points for the Multi Pass service during the first half of May:
- EPCOT: Prices as low as $21 on May 1 and May 8 through May 11.
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Dropping to $27 on May 11.
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Falling to $16 on May 5, 6, 11, and 12.
Why This Matters for Your Strategy
Disney uses variable pricing based on expected demand. When you see a price drop like this, it typically indicates that Disney’s internal data suggests a slight dip in attendance. This “sweet spot” in May often falls between the chaotic Spring Break season and the start of the massive summer vacation rush.
For guests, this is the perfect time to utilize the skip-the-line system. While lower prices don’t guarantee the park will be empty, it does mean the cost-to-benefit ratio for purchasing Multi Pass is much higher. You can enjoy classic attractions like Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean with significantly less financial friction.
Planning Pro-Tips for May
- Check the App Early: Remember that you can purchase your Lightning Lane Multi Pass and make your first three selections up to 7 days in advance if you’re staying at a Disney Resort hotel, or 3 days in advance for other guests.
- Combine with Single Pass: Even on lower-priced days, the most popular attractions like TRON Lightcycle / Run and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train still require a separate Lightning Lane Single Pass. Expect those to range between $12 and $24 depending on the specific date.
- Watch the Calendar: Pricing is daily. Even if you see a $29 day, the surrounding dates might still be higher, so check every day of your trip to budget accordingly.
As we move toward the summer, we expect these prices to climb back up once the schools let out. If you’re visiting in early to mid-May, take advantage of this rare pricing dip while it lasts. It’s a great chance to maximize your magic at a much more reasonable rate.
