Exclusive Passholder Perks Returning to EPCOT
If you have walked through the Imagination! pavilion at EPCOT this week, you might have noticed some colorful new additions to the Magic Eye Theater lobby. Disney has officially begun installing themed barriers and walls to prepare for the upcoming V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days, which kicks off on May 1, 2026. While the theater remains the home of the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival, a significant portion of the lobby is being carved out for a private experience that is strictly for Annual Passholders.
A Themed Transformation
Unlike standard construction walls, these new barriers are designed to blend into the existing aesthetic of the pavilion. They feature vibrant graphics inspired by Disney and Pixar shorts, ensuring that the atmosphere remains immersive for everyone. However, the walls serve a very practical purpose: crowd control and exclusivity. Because the meet and greet is located in a high-traffic area, these barriers help prevent confusion for day guests while providing a more intimate setting for Passholders.
The walls don’t reach the ceiling, so you can still catch a glimpse of the classic film reel backdrops. Currently, stanchions and ropes are in place to guide the flow of traffic, signaling that Disney is putting the final touches on the queue system before the grand opening this Friday.
Meet Mickey’s Best Pals
The main draw of this restricted area is an exclusive meet and greet featuring “some of Mickey Mouse’s best pals.” While Disney has not released a specific list of names, this typically includes the “Sensational Six” like Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto. Historically, these events have occasionally included surprise characters, but for now, the focus is on Mickey’s closest friends. The meet and greet will operate daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, beginning May 1 and running through July 31, 2026.
Know Before You Go: Passholder Logistics
If you’re planning to stop by for a photo and a hug, there are a few technicalities to keep in mind for 2026:
- Proof of Status: You must present a valid Annual Pass along with a government-issued photo ID. You can also use a linked MagicBand+ or the Disney MagicMobile pass.
- Park Access: Remember that you still need a park reservation for EPCOT unless it is a “Good-to-Go” day or you are entering after 2:00 PM (subject to blockout dates).
- Wait Times: These exclusive greetings are popular. We recommend visiting earlier in the morning or during the lunch hour when crowds tend to shift toward the World Showcase.
More Summer Magic
The Magic Eye Theater experience is just one piece of the V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days puzzle. Passholders can also head over to the Morocco Pavilion to visit the exclusive lounge at Restaurant Marrakesh, which offers air-conditioned seating and complimentary snacks from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Don’t forget to swing by the Creations Shop to pick up the new Toy Story themed magnet featuring Buzz and Woody while supplies last!
